The brief for this project was pretty much open and BIG ideas were very much welcome. The ‘Ring in Christmas with Telecom’ campaign of 2006 was about to be launched and Telecom wanted to not only promote it well to the masses but also to their entire call centre staff. At the time the existing communications were through a company intranet. A staff member could quickly access up-to-date information on products and plans, current media campaigns, special offers as well as time activated forums and employee incentives.
My job was to help create a solution that would not only maintain this current level of communication but also double as Christmas gift for each Customer Service employee. Could this be done?…too right it could!
In the early hours of the morning a small elf-like figure remotely installed this wonderful gift on every staff members PC. When the team sat down to begin their honest days work rather than seeing the photo of their kids, a green hillside or a foreign sunset they saw a striking Christmas winter landscape with a splash of the latest Telecom campaign.
Though it was packed full of hidden animated treasures including a parachuting Santa, random reindeer and contrary weather patterns it never distracted the user or intruded in their daily work. The constant heavy load of information being fed into the desktops by a remote administrator never impacted on the speed and efficiency of the computer.
