Kia Ora! My name is Wayne Bowman and I’m a designer from the land down under, New Zealand. Home of the All Blacks, Minties, Hobbits and sensational Internet landscaping. I love designing, whether it’s for print, web, film or fabric, it’s what I enjoy and what I do best.
I have had an extensive career in the design industry specialising mainly in web design. I have had the pleasure to work with many talented individuals over the years and the opportunity to make my mark on a variety of high profile projects. I have always been fascinated with the internet, and designing for this space has become somewhat of a healthy obsession. I absolutely love it’s fast paced culture, it’s invitation for innovation and the constant reminder that yesterday’s trend may not be today’s.

I have great respect for a good design process, and If I want to understand my clients business well and achieve good results, this process is an extremely valuable tool. I believe It’s easy to create a good looking website, but it’s a greater challenge to create one that works, meets all objectives and exceeds the clients expectations. I know, very cliche, but it’s true! A good design strategy does not have to be a complicated and lengthy process but it will insure that there are effective channels of communication established, the business and creative objectives are fully understood and there is a clear and concise plan of attack in place for the project ahead.
As a designer I love to wear as many hats as possible. Though I specialise in website design I also have a portfolio that includes offline multimedia and print solutions. Being able to utilise my skill-set throughout a campaign makes work a lot more interesting and gratifying.
Behind The Scenes
I believe a good balance in life is essential. A man cannot live purely on the aroma of caffeine and the hum of a laptop, so when I’m not wrestling with Photoshop you will find me chilling out with my wonderful wife and my two beautiful little girls.
Another passion of mine is music, especially of the live and loud variety. Nothing beats a dub drenched Wellington summer afternoon, a good jam with mates or the roar of a band down the curious alleyways of Cuba Street on a good night. Ah yes, Aotearoa is a great place to be.
